ENTREPRENEURS INDUCTED INTO 2010 HALL OF FAME
From "The Herald News" (member of Sun Times Media), Business Briefs, March 11, 2010 -- CHICAGO - Three Will County businesses were inducted into the Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame's Class of 2010. The awards are sponsored by the Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The 2010 Hall of Fame Class includes: Donna Stevenson, President, Stevenson Crane Service, Bolingbrook; Cherilyn Murer, President and CEO, Murer Consultants, Inc., Joliet; and Lawrence Stonitsch, President, Rovanco Piping Systems, Joliet.
MELISSA MURER CORRIGAN RECEIVES AWARD
Melissa Murer Corrigan, niece of Cherilyn and Michael Murer, will be honored at a special reception at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C., on March 13, where she will receive the Weaver Medal of Honor from the Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Since 1985, the Chicago Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame has recognized innovative business leaders. Each year, the Hall of Fame inducts distinguished entrepreneurs who have demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and business talent by founding or growing their respective business. On February 25, 2010, Cherilyn Murer became one of this year's new members as she was inducted into this prestigious organization. The University of Illinois at Chicago College of Business Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies is one of the leading entrepreneurial research and professional organizations in the United States. The institute has now expanded its scope and depth with innovative programs serving students, business owners and the international research community.

STATE SENATOR A.J. WILHELMI APPOINTED TO NATIONAL LAW GROUP
State Senator A. J. Wilhelmi (D-Joliet), a Senior Consultant with Murer, has been appointed by Governor Patrick Quinn to serve a four-year term on the Uniform Law Commission (ULC). Senator Wilhelmi is one of eight uniform law commissioners representing Illinois. Founded in 1892, the ULC is a national law group headquartered in Chicago that is comprised of more than 300 practicing attorneys, judges, law professors, legislators and other state officials appointed by each state as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Its goal is to draft and promote enactment of uniform laws that are designed to solve problems common to all states.
