Course Objectives
- To identify parameters of roles and responsibilities
of the health manager to minimize political disruption while maximizing
desired outcome.
- To assure commonality of language, methodology and
outcome expectations throughout the continuum by aligning the acute
oriented care tracks with a post acute continuum.
- To adapt an organizational philosophy of transitioning
patient care from the most restrictive acute setting to least restrictive
and less costly alternative venues including:
- Subacute Care
- Long Term Care Hospital
- Skilled Nursing Facility
- Home Health
- Senior Care Clinics
- General Outpatient Services
- Other alternatives venues within the service
capabilities of the system.
- To allow for individual professional development
for health managers.
- To apprise health managers of the latest regulatory,
clinical, and financial information as available in order to assist
in informed decision-making regarding full utilization of the Health
System Continuum of Care. Focus shall be on the most recent and most
impacting regulatory changes including HIPAA and Patient Rights legislation.
